Welcome to Kinetik, a series of precision motion watch faces designed specifically for the modern wearable ecosystem. The collection features Flux 01, Flux 02, and the latest Flux 03, each pushing the boundaries of what is possible with the new Watch Face Format (WFF).
The Kinetik series is built for those who value both form and function—delivering smooth animations without compromising on the battery life or privacy that users expect from their daily driver.
The Challenge & Solution
Many modern watch faces are bloated with background processes that drain battery and collect unnecessary user data. For Kinetik, the goal was to return to the fundamentals of chronography while leveraging the latest technical standards.
By utilizing the WFF Native framework, we eliminated all background processes. The watch faces run as pure declarations of intent, handled directly by the Wear OS system. This ensures maximum efficiency and a “zero-latency” feel.
Technologies & Architecture
We utilized Watch Face Format (WFF), XML, and Wear OS to construct the solution.
- WFF Native: Built using the official Android Watch Face Format, ensuring no background processes and pure efficiency.
- AOD Optimized: Each face features a sleek low-power state for “Always-On” screens. We meticulously calculated the screen burn-in area, keeping it at only 1%, significantly lower than industry averages.
- Privacy-First Design: In line with the flah.work philosophy, these watch faces collect no data. No metrics, no location, no health data—just time.
